Do any of you put some sort of identification on your LO’s when you go out somewhere where there are a lot of people? I am terrified to take them places by myself in fear of losing one of them. I usually only go if dh or my sister come along. I read in the paper that some moms place a sticker like a “hello my name is…” sticker & they write “mom’s cell number & the number” on it. Or they write the info on a plastic bracelet with a sharpie marker. I have a friend who has a daughter who is almost 3 yrs old & we have been trying to get together with our dh’s but hers works on week-ends. She suggested that just us moms & the kids meet up at a park which is a few towns away. I’ve taken my kids to a busy town park before with my sister & they each went in different directions. (And near the swings & the flooded garden areas). DH is concerned about this too. How do you handle going out with 2 or more kids? Do you go by yourself? How do you keep an eye on them? I’d appreciate any advice you can give.

I hardly ever go out by myself with my four, but do sometimes with the twins, but in the stroller they go.
Remember that post I did a while back about a website called Safety Tat? You can purchase 30 of them for about $19 I think. You should check it out. You personalize them with your Cell phone number. They are really neat.
Believe me, you are not the only one that gets nervous about going out alone with them, I do all of the time. I took both of them to Emma’s PT appointment the other day, and chose not to use the stroller, and so as I was getting them both out of the van. I put Faith down for a second to get Emma out, and off she went. But I caught her before she got away. So yeah, it’s tough.

yes it’s hard i don’t do it often - today, i took them and madeline to the park at the elementary school, which was great - it is in the back of the school, so i didn’t have to worry about traffic, however, when sarah and samantha chose to do different things on the jungle gym, then it was a huge challenge - madeline was a big help though!
otherwise, like annette - in the stroller they go!

Well my girls HATE the stroller. Naturally if I’m alone like for doctor appts and stuff like that 2 go into the stroller and I usually have Olivia walk. She gets to walk just because she likes to walk and I don’t have to carry her for any reason.
I have heard about the safety tats and I think those are great.

My guys hate the stroller, too. I do take them some places alone but we usually save trips to the zoo and mall for days the hubby is home. I’m always the most nervous getting them in/out of the car. Aside from the obvious danger of getting hit by a car I’m terrified some crazed criminal is going to kidnap one of them. Good thoughts, huh?
As for identification, I don’t put anything on mine. I’ve thought about it but in order for it to be safe it would need to be hidden & if they did get lost someone may not know to look for it, ya’ know? Owen knows both mine & hubby’s full names, where hubby works, etc. He’s learning our phone #’s, too. I will do the same with the babies & in the meantime just watch them like hawks!
Hubby & I were joking about getting microchips for the kids like we have for the dog.

Hey Keri…you aren’t the only one that has thought of the microchip thing or some kind of tracking device, like when you go to some big amusement park or something. We have too!
Maybe like a wristband or something. Does Disney World have anything like that? If not, they should.

Ruthie - IDK…I’ve seen the child trackers you can put on their shoes & stuff but I don’t know how sophistocated they are. I’d love something for LSU football games for Owen.

I was watching Lou and Lou Safety Patrol and they said that if you can’t memorize your phone numbers you should have someone write them on a piece of paper and keep it in your pocket. I think that is a cool idea and doesn’t cost anything. We were using those safety harness aka leashes and the girls just didn’t want to walk in them.

I totally knwo what you mean… My girls are still too young, but when I watched my sister’s kids, I would dress them all in the same solid colored shirt and we got them some neat dog tag id’s made from
http://www.mypreciouskid.com/id-bracelet-kit.html
Being that we are all military, these were their dog tags and went over VERY well..
let us know how it goes and what worked for ya!!!
