Potty Question

We haven’t started potty training yet, but would like to be prepared. Do you or will you be buying one potty or two (or more)?  Do you buy one per child? Do you try to train both at the same time?  Can you recommend a good potty to buy?  I have no clue on how to handle any of this and would appreciate everybody’s advice.

Diane,
I’m not going to try to potty train my girls at the same time. Olivia right now is the only one that has even expressed interest in it. I had bought a potty but as of right now, it is still in the box. I just got one. I got the one that I felt was the easiest to clean. I hope that helps some.

We have 2 potties. The simple white Baby Bjorn ones. They’re the best for boys b/c of the high guard that’s attached…we went through a few others with Owen & hated them all for one reason or another…usually because the pee guard wasn’t high enough or would fall off into the urine. These are molded plastic so there are not many places for gross stuff to get stuck. :-P

Both of mine show interest in potty training now & I just follow their lead. I’m not going to delay one & I wouldn’t push one to train if he weren’t ready. Right now they sit on the potty once or twice a day & only occasionally do anything in it.
