Now I know I was kidding myself but some child never do it, climbing out of their crib that is. I was and still an in no rush to put my girls in “big” girl beds. I wanted to keep them in their cribs until they were completely potty trained. Well that looks like it won’t happen.
I’m working our store as I do each weekend, Hubby was home with the girls. While the girls were napping, he went across the street to bring over a swing set that we bought from our neighbor, he had the monitor on him.
Just as he was finishing up, he hears Olivia saying “Papi where are you?” she normally says things like that so he didn’t pay any mind. Well then he hears Cora screaming. Naturally he runs over to our house and up a flight of stairs and sees Cora sitting on the floor. He was like how did you get on the floor.
So now my problems start. She climbed out of her crib and landed on the floor. This is very scarry because we do not have a gate at the top of the stairs because this wasn’t an issue. We have the gate, just never put it up. So she could have easily went down the stairs. Needless to say, the gate is going up as we speak or in internet world, as I type.
Cora is okay, no signs of trama, she was scared but pretty much stopped crying as he picked up her. No marks and she is acting normal, even ate normal during their late lunch.
These kids love to scare the poop out of ya.

Awww…Cynthia, I can imagine how scary that must have been for you guys. But sounds like she is going to be just fine. Thank heavens for that.

goodness - that is pretty scary! sarah flipped out of her crib a few months back. we thought we had the mattress on the lowest setting, but apparently did not. she hoisted herself up over the crib and literally did a front flip out. she was fine, but nonetheless, i spent the next 30 minutes tearing her crib apart to get the mattress down another level(dh happened to be out of town). i, too, don’t have any plans to get them to big girl beds anytime soon - honestly, they can stay in the crib until they are 3 for all i care!
anyway - have you thought about that netting that goes over the crib. i’ve never used it, but samantha has been trying to swing her leg over the top of the crib lately and has even become smart enough to use her pillow and stuffed animals to stand on to help the cause.
