Dummed out about lack of selection at Mom’s of Multiple sale

August 15, 2008

I belong to a great Mom’s of Multiple club.  I have met a lot of great women there and have made friends that will last a long time.

Twice a year, they have a sale.  Members only can sell their gently used clothing, toys, you name it that has to do with a child you can sell there.   Each year I have made out well, buying my girls toys and almost enough clothing to last the season for around $150 total.

Well this year I was REALLY disappointed.   Seems that each year the pickings get smaller and the clothing or toys are more worn down.  Also, I’m not sure if it is because the sizes are going up but the prices of alot of things were a lot as well.  A fleece sleeper that looks like more than one child used was $3.00.  I would not have paid more than $1.00 for it and even then I would have had to think about it.  Also where the tables used to be jammed pack, they were empty.

I did manage to get a few pretend toys and some dress up dresses for the girls as well as a few pairs of jeans, some tops and a few sleepers.  But I’m no where near done with their fall/winter clothes.  DH made me sell their coats from last year.  Of course they would have not fit Viviana or Olivia but Cora could have wore one of them.  But no he made me sell them all so as of right now, the girls still need a light fall jacket and a winter coat.

I HOPE to take them out more often this year so I know it will be needed.  Thanks for letting me vent.   At least with the sale over, I know what I need to look for in the stores.  Before the sale, I was afraid to pay retail for anything in hopes to get it cheaper at the sale.

Does anyone else here buy used for their kids?  Or does everyone by retail and just wait for a sale?

Hey Everybody!

June 11, 2008

Wow, It’s been over 10 days since anyone has posted.  I hope everyone is doing ok.  I know…it’s summer…everyone is probably really busy with vacations and stuff.  I wish I could say the same.  And man…am I really needing one.  Today, Emma is having a really bad day.  She woke up this morning with a little fever and coughing and congestion.  And she has just been in a really bad mood.  Wanting me to hold her all of the time.  It’s been pretty stressful.  Unfortunately, I have 3 other children with needs to attend to, and I can’t do what she wants.  Her only nap today lasted 15 minutes, so you can imagine what I’m going through.

We’ll be heading to the ped in the morning, so hopefully I’ll have some answers, but I’m sure she’ll just send us home saying that it’s viral and there is nothing we can do but wait it out.  Wish us luck!! :P

Into Everything!?

May 15, 2008

Alright  - Samantha is into EVERYTHING!!!  she has learned to take the step stool from the bathroom to the living room to climb onto the couches or into the kitchen to grab things off the counter. I wear glasses that have the clip on’s for sunglasses and can’t find the clip ons ANYWHERE.  i’m sure she took them somewhere - I feel like i’m constantly running after her or yelling at everyone for leaving things just lay on the counters. Is anyone having a similar issue?

OMG Izzy got out of her crib

April 22, 2008

The girls were both down for “naps” this afternoon and I kept hearing a toy go off.  Well I thought DH gave it to them when he put them down but then the toy noise was followed with banging and all these strange noises.  I thought I better go check on them and when I opened the door, Izzy was walking around all over the room.  She just walked up to me like this was normal and handed me her toothbrush that she had found and was carrying around.  The room was a mess with mini garbage bags, clothes, toys, books, toiletries and she even managed to find the humidifier in the closet and got that out too.  I was freaked out but then it turned out to be pretty funny.  She was so proud of herself.  We lowered the crib to the lowest setting so hopefully this will keep her contained a bit better!

Hi!

April 19, 2008

Hi everyone.  Sorry I haven’t been around much.  Things have been hectic.  Mindy and Izzy are both teething and have both been sick for the past week.  I think they are finally starting to feel better.  I hope so at least.  This past week has been exhausting.  Hope everyone is well.

Easter Outfits

February 28, 2008

I mentioned to Lou the other day that Angelina will need an Easter dress and he said, “What are you kidding me? We’re not doing that!” I was sooo mad!  I’m going to go out & buy her one anyway! And if I see a hat I’ll get that too!!!  We will be visiting my Dad on the Eve & Lou’s parents on the Day & I would really like the babies to be dressed up. Are you guys dressing up the babies???

Ouch!

February 20, 2008

I ruptured a disc in my back and am having a really rough time watching the girls.  I injured it Monday night and went to the doctor today.  He wanted me to rest for a day or two while taking steroids so some of the acute symptoms would start to go away.  Of course my husband couldn’t take off work though so thats not going to happen.  I guess Im just going to have to do the best I can taking care of the babies while being in this much pain.  Sorry to complain!
