Dummed out about lack of selection at Mom’s of Multiple sale

August 15, 2008

I belong to a great Mom’s of Multiple club.  I have met a lot of great women there and have made friends that will last a long time.

Twice a year, they have a sale.  Members only can sell their gently used clothing, toys, you name it that has to do with a child you can sell there.   Each year I have made out well, buying my girls toys and almost enough clothing to last the season for around $150 total.

Well this year I was REALLY disappointed.   Seems that each year the pickings get smaller and the clothing or toys are more worn down.  Also, I’m not sure if it is because the sizes are going up but the prices of alot of things were a lot as well.  A fleece sleeper that looks like more than one child used was $3.00.  I would not have paid more than $1.00 for it and even then I would have had to think about it.  Also where the tables used to be jammed pack, they were empty.

I did manage to get a few pretend toys and some dress up dresses for the girls as well as a few pairs of jeans, some tops and a few sleepers.  But I’m no where near done with their fall/winter clothes.  DH made me sell their coats from last year.  Of course they would have not fit Viviana or Olivia but Cora could have wore one of them.  But no he made me sell them all so as of right now, the girls still need a light fall jacket and a winter coat.

I HOPE to take them out more often this year so I know it will be needed.  Thanks for letting me vent.   At least with the sale over, I know what I need to look for in the stores.  Before the sale, I was afraid to pay retail for anything in hopes to get it cheaper at the sale.

Does anyone else here buy used for their kids?  Or does everyone by retail and just wait for a sale?

Shopping trips are just exhausting

August 12, 2008

How do you ladies do it?  Last night me and hubby plus the fab 3 went to the local mall.  I had to return some clothes and I wanted to get another pair of sneakers.  We took the single stroller and had the girls take turns in it.  We also had at one point all 3 of them out and running about.

I was exhausted but the great side was that they were too.  We put them to bed past their normal 8pm bedtime.  I think it was more like 9:30pm and they were out like a light.  They didn’t get up until about 8:30am this morning.

We used to use them as an alarm clock because once they were awake, they would make noises and wake us up.  Olivia loves to say.  Mami where are you? and after 3 times she tries Papi where are you? lol.  But NOW they are just sitting in their cribs waiting for us to come and get them.  Not sure I want to put them in big girl beds just yet.  I was going to wait until we started potty training which hasn’t happened yet.

Olivia will pee on the potty when we put her there and tap her belly and say pee pee.  She then says pee pee and trys to push something out.  9 times out of 10 she does something.  The one time she didn’t she said no pee pee.  lol.

Even though every night I go to bed exhausted, they are the highlight of my life.

My New Ebay Affiliate Store

March 8, 2008

Hey!  You guys need to check out my new Ebay Affiliate Store, Twinarama!  It’s just something that may help me earn a little extra cash.  Tell me what you think?

I bought the dress

March 5, 2008

I ordered a dress today for Angelina for Easter. It’s pink & purple & has flowers on it. It’s so pretty! I bought it at sears.com. It was only $10.80, but after tax & shipping it came to $18.09!!! I had a giftcard from the b’day so I didn’t mind. I bought the 18 month size. I hope it fits her well! It’s a little summer-ish, but she has a pink sweater & I can put her in pink tights underneath.

Got New Carseats Today - The Cosco Scenera

March 1, 2008

scenara-carseat.jpgOkay…I know most of you have the really nice Britax carseats, and I would really love for the twins to have them. It’s just we really don’t have the money to buy them. Now…today I bought these Cosco Scenera carseats for the twins. I’ve read some really good reviews, and you just can’t beat the price. They were only $43 at Walmart. And not to mention the really cute design. :) They fit a infant from 5 to 35 lbs rear-facing (which I thought was pretty darn good) and 22 to 40 lbs forward-facing. They are very similar to the one that Faith is riding in now, and she loves it. Emma’s carseat was an older version, and didn’t have the Latch, so I was mainly looking for her, but how could I not buy two matching ones…you know? They are just too cute! LOL

Easter Outfits

February 28, 2008

I mentioned to Lou the other day that Angelina will need an Easter dress and he said, “What are you kidding me? We’re not doing that!” I was sooo mad!  I’m going to go out & buy her one anyway! And if I see a hat I’ll get that too!!!  We will be visiting my Dad on the Eve & Lou’s parents on the Day & I would really like the babies to be dressed up. Are you guys dressing up the babies???

Huge multiples discount!!!

February 27, 2008

I just ordered a pair of Preschoolians shoes to try b/c of a special offer. I noticed on their site that they offer 40% off for families w/ multiples!!! That’s the best multiples discount I’ve ever heard of. (Stride Rite doesn’t offer one at all.) They only require a picture of your kids & that you buy 2 pair (or 3 for triplets, etc.) of shoes at the same time. Also, if you sign up for their newsletter you get 15% off your first purchase. I’ll definitely let you guys know how we like them.

Cute personalized baby/kid stuff

I’ve been meaning to share this website w/ you guys for a while.  It’s one of my childhood friends’ WAHM business.  I’ve gotten several things from her & they’re excellent quality & her prices are great.  She even made sippy cup inserts w/ the babies’ names on them so we don’t get them mixed up.  Anyway, check it out if you get a chance.  :-)
