Off to the Country

August 6, 2008

Hubby and I are going to be house sitting for my parents while they go on a 5 day vacation to Branson, MO with my older two (6 and 3) for a final summer fling before school begins on the 15th. My parents live in the country and have chickens and lots of kitties so it ought to be a blast for Faith and Emma and some quiet time for me. Their place is very secluded so it will be relaxing getting out of town. It will be strange to go from 4 kids to 2 but SO NICE! I will miss them but it’s a great opportunity for bonding with Grandma and Grandpa.

Here’s a pic I got of Faith and Emma the other day. They were acting all sweet and helping eachother down and then they would say “Thank you” to eachother……….too cute!

Pictures of my girls.

I thought that I would post pictures of my girls since I always LOVE seeing others pictures.
Cora eating some Mexican food and loving it.

Viviana, I don’t think she knew what that was.

Hello Ladies, It’s Cynthia (knittie3) from BBC

August 5, 2008

Hello there,  I have so missed all of you but Diane, only because she is still on BBC and I get to talk to her.  I have really missed being able to talk to other mom’s that have more than one child of the same age.  I know on BBC Ruthie was my buddy but I had even lost touch with her until recently.

My girls are doing great and will be 2 years old in Sept.  I’m planning the party as we speak.  I wanted to have it at “My Little Gym” or a place like that but I don’t think we can afford it right now.  Money is so tight that I worry about it all the time.

The girls are great and growing and learning a lot.  Viviana has tested OUT of physical therapy.  She is either at her sisters level or pasted them in a lot of physical activities.  But she still needs speech because she doesn’t say many words.  Viviana is about 35 inches tall, and weighs almost 30 pounds.   Olivia is the most talkative one.  She says about 100 english words and 5 spanish words.  Olivia is also 35 inches long and just over 30 pounds.  They are both in 2t clothing but some of Childrens Place clothing they are wearing 3t already.  Cora is in the middle she says about 30 words but mostly puts them in sentences.  One day she was walking around saying “I want a doggie” LOL.  She is my smallest about 32 inches tall and only 23.5 pounds.  She eats well but then runs around the living room like a chicken without a head LOL.

Well I hope to be here more often, I know the summers are slow since vacations are going on.

Hugs to all.

oh, these kids!

August 1, 2008

Hey there everyone!  Keri - great pictures of the boys>

diane hang in there - they say that sometimes kids need to be given the same food at least a dozen times before they decide they like it or want to try it - just keep trying!!

I really don’t have much to report - sarah and samantha no longer will sit in their high chairs, so we have a kids table in the kitchen that they sit at - it’s a bit of a challenge because samantha seems to think that all the plates and bowls are hers and gets so ticked off if sarah eats from them - she definitely does not know the concept of sharing! :)

Madeline starts kindergarten in just a few short weeks and jordan has try outs next week to be on a competition cheer team. Greg started a new job today and we have finally decided to just stay in our current house for 2 more years(we had kind of been looking)  we have also been looking for nanny instead of the daycare, but that is a slow process - maybe i’m just to anal retentive -

well - gotta run- all the kids are making their way to bed and greg and i have movie night!

Pool Pics…

July 26, 2008

As promised….here are the pool pics from last week. Hope you like them!  I tried to post them in the photo gallery but they were too large & I didn’t feel like playing with the sizes in photo shop.

Lovin’ that Personal Hygiene!

July 24, 2008

Faith and Em are taking a real interest in toothbrushing, handwashing, and using thier potties. Not too much pressure on the whole potty thing though! I consider it an “intro to potty 101″ and if they pick it up, hurray for me, but if not, we have plenty of time.

It’s filling up some empty hours of summer so that is always good :)

Sleepless in NY

July 23, 2008

Yesterday Angelina had a fever of 101 when she woke up (screaming, of course). I tried to give her tylenol & she threw up. Luckily we were near the sink in the kitchen. I waited a bit & tried motrin & she was able to handle that. I called the ped. & they weren’t open until 10:30 & the emergency service said to bring her in. Well, DH took the car with the car seats to work & he was about 45 minutes away. Her fever went down by 10:00 so we thought she would be ok & didn’t go to the dr.  Last night it was ok before bed & I put her to bed about 8:30-9:00pm. I couldn’t give Motrin again until after 11pm (6 hrs later than the last dose).  I checked on her about 1am before going to bed & she felt sooo hot. I took her temp & it was 103.4!!! I gave her motrin & put her in a cool bath - she didn’t like that!! It was about 2:30am before she went back to sleep. Then I couldn’t sleep.  My stomach was in knots & I had to keep getting up to use the bathroom & I felt nauseous. At about 8am Frankie was up. So I got up & took care of him. Then shortly after Angelina woke up. Her temp was 102.7. I spoke to the dr & was told I could increase the motrin amt to 2.5ml (from 1.875).  Dh decided not to go to work & we took Angelina to the Ped at 10:30am.  The dr said her right ear was red & her throat was red. They took a throat culture. It is either an ear infection or Coxia(?) - virus that causes sores in the mouth. She prescribed amoxicillin & it seemed to help. She was able to eat lunch & take a nap.  Most likely she picked up something from being at the public pool on Sun. I am sooo tired.  Since we’ve been home my appetite is back, so my ailment must have been from stress. Hopefully we’ll have a better night tonight.

The Swimming Pool

July 19, 2008

Lou and I took the babies to the public swimming pool today. It was the first time in the water for the babies. At first they screamed & cried, but after a while they seemed to like it. We stayed in the baby pool. It was 6″ - 1 foot. Angelina got mad when I told her we had to get out for a while. Her hands were pruning up!  We stayed about 2 hours & they really enjoyed it.  We took some pics, but didn’t download them into the pc yet. It was fun, but exhausting.  I definitely will need another person with me when going. It was hard enough to keep tabs on one child. I couldn’t imagine trying to bring two by myself.  Overall I’d say we had a great time!! :)
